SANTA MARIA LA MAYOR DE TAMARITE DE LITERA (R)
Description
Church of great proportions, built on an old mosque at the end of the 12th century, with a basilical plan with three naves and three apses, underwent many modifications and additions in the 17th and 18th centuries, in which several side chapels and other structures stand out. However, its interior retains its original state, with three naves of four sections, covered by pointed vaults, while the apses were removed from the south side replaced by a sacristy. On the transept there is a Gothic lantern dome, which stands out on the outside together with a large tower of four bodies.
