Description
The first stone of The Old Cathedral of Lerida was placed in 1203. His formal expositions are Romanesque but they herald the transition towards the Gothic. His plant is of Latin cross of three naves finished off in semicircular apses. The cloister attached to the gable-wall of west, is already totally Gothic, as his belfry toasts in contraposition with the head-board of the temple and his ship transepto, that are the most Romanesque elements of the whole set. Stands out the decoration of his principal front pages which demonstrate an evident Islamic influence.
