Description

Dating back to 1231, its initial construction perhaps on an earlier building as it is mentioned in year 924 by King Garcia Sancho, consisted of a single nave wider than long with covered presbytery by pointed barrel vault, a large central apse covered by a pointed waiting room vault, and an absidiol on each side, although currently only the headboard and the southern front are left, since the rest has been rebuilt. Very interesting is the decoration of the tympanum related to the “decoration of daisies” that we also find in other churches of the area, the modillions and the decoration sculpted in the interior of the headboard.
