Description

There is news of the existence of a bishopric in Gerona in the time of Pope Innocent I (401-417). After the Muslim conquest and its recovery by Carlomango, in 1015 a new cathedral was built, which from 1312 would be replaced by the current Gothic building, in which the Romanesque cloister, the bell tower, called “Charlemagne Tower”, and some ancient buildings forming part of the canons’ quarters.
