MONASTERIO DE SAN PEDRO DE CASSERRES (R)
Description
Monastery consecrated around 1050 as a family monastery. Located overlooking a great meander of the river Ter and built on a previous fortification, it is formed by a cloister that only conserves three original capitals, a bell tower, several annexed rooms and, most importantly, a large church, with three naves, more wide and high the central one that the lateral ones, covered by vaults of canyon on arcs torales and separated by arches of half point on cruciform pillars, that finish in three semicircular apses covered by quarter-sphere vaults.
