FORTALEZA DE MONTERREI (R)
Description
Nailed on the remains of a Celtic hopscotch, already she turns out to be mentioned in documents of the 10th century. The fortress would be reconstructed in the 12th century, at the end of the XIIIth it was the most important point of the defensive line of the south of Galicia, and in the 17th century two auxiliary enclosures were constructed walled. The result is a set of three enclosures of which the most interior is to the castle with the tower of the honoring and the tower of the ladies in his court of weapon. At present in him one finds Parador Nacional de Verín.
