ERMITA DE PUILAMPA (R)
Description
Puilampa’s monastic, very near church to Sádaba, is everything what stays of the monastery of hospitable. His name comes from Podium Lampadii, ” place where in high place fire was lit “, in allusion to his guide’s function like beacon for the pilgrims who were crossing one of the former routes jacobeas. His style is Cistercian and it was built at the end of the XIIth or beginning of the XIIIth. Two inscriptions to the interior, have date of 1189; and other one on the outside, of 1222. It is a building of rectangular nave ended in apse of drum.
