Description

Church of the Escanilla castle, a religious-military complex that is part of the line of watchtowers designed by Sancho III the Greater of Navarra at the beginning of the 11th century in his advance towards the east. The hermitage, built in horizontal rows of ashlar, has a rectangular plan with a flat head, although only part of its side walls remain of the original temple, with the original doorway, with a semicircular voussoir, which is preserved, although blinded, in the center of the South side.

See description in  Románico Aragonés.
