Description

The collegiate church of Santa Maria the Alquezar’s Major one has his origin in an Islamic strength of the 9th century. It is in 1099 when Sancho Ramirez decides to provide it with a community of canons agustinos, a church constructs Romanesque collegiate church that will be replaced in the 16th century. In the 14th century the Gothic cloister was constructed but in a style next the Romanesque one. His plant is that of the quadrilateral irregular one, with columns pareadas and round arches. Still there are kept six storied Romanesque capitals of the first half of the 12th century.
