Description

Of Arab origin, it is located on a hill over the Vegas of the rivers Júcar and Cabriel in which remains of Iberians and Romans have been found, the current fortress was built in the eleventh century and has been modified over the centuries. Modifying its structure of castle rocker until the palace-residence in the sixteenth century and actively participated in the wars of Succession and Independence. Surrounded by an outer wall, it has a rectangular plan with two cubes, eight towers and the great Keep, of square silver and four levels. Recently restored, guided tours are organized from the Tourist Office.
